ASI | HemoLens
Enabling the nation’s first comprehensive blood data platform
The ability to see a real-time snapshot of the nation’s health is unprecedented in the United States.
The blood banking industry in the U.S. — much like the broader healthcare system — is managed through many disaggregated and privatized databases. Without visibility, organizations and regulatory bodies cannot accurately measure the current blood product supply, evaluate and predict needs, and ensure donor and product safety at a national level.
ASI, GlobalLogic, and a number of leading blood banking organizations are coming together to establish a NFP consortium to create and support HemoLens (the platform and industry-facing data product experience) and MyBlood (a donor-facing “passport” experience).
HemoLens will serve as a catalyst for changing how data is used to inform Public Health; setting an example of successful aggregation and normalization of health data.
The HemoLens and MyBlood product experiences will support key audiences across across the blood donation and processing journey, and support hemovigilance and surveillance.
Donor recruitment & registration | Simplifying donor registration, access to health data, and donor management
Internal and benchmark performance reporting | Increasing access to and transparency of reporting data
Inventory management & product search | Providing a comprehensive view of blood product availability
Donor safety & site performance surveillance | Assuring hemovigilance through real-time reporting and data visibility at a national scale
The following is an excerpt of the documentation used to align primary stakeholders, and establish participation among consortium members. Requirements, plan and governance components have not been included.
